Ten years ago…
What shoes did you wear?
Pretty much the same as I do now, high-heeled sandals, boots and pumps. I was thinner, had great legs and I knew the shoes complimented me perfectly. I do remember a pair of denim covered sandals with a fine beaded trim, very high and so beautiful!
Did you have any secrets?
I was starting a new life in Johannesburg, so my whole was a mystery.
Who did you admire/who was your hero?
I admired my mum, who even though she was mad at me for leaving my marriage and family behind to start fresh still loved me and gave me confidence to go on and find myself.
Where did you think babies came from?
I knew already, by then my Angel was 5 years old.
What music did you listen to?
I was very much into rock, pop-rock, rock ballads and the like and at the time being introduced to the likes of Dozi.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
I had dreams of becoming a veterinarian, which then got replaced with wanting to be and air hostess, neither of which I’ve become.
What was your favourite place to hang out?
I was new to Jo’burg and I loved it, all of it. Everywhere was great, I still love the city.
What was your favourite book/film?
Shoot, this is a tough one, I had to use good ole Google to help. The Matrix it is, I’ve seen it about 30 times or more since then.
Did you have a lot to learn?
Oh hell yes, and I’m still learning!
What did you find hilarious?
The new city, the new people, so very different from Cape Town, added to the fact the it was my first time living away from home.
Lastly, what are you wearing today?
My pj’s, been in them all day, had a shower and put on a fresh gown and slippers. Total lazy ass!
Your top ten favourite shoes?
This is by far the meanest question to ask! I have so many to choose from. I do love my Nine West shoe boots
; two tone leather sandal from VS,
black suede loafers from Gucci
,
Zoom suede beaded flats (bought on my last SA holiday),
Carrie-esque black slip-on (ever so sexy)
,
Bata black leather ankle boot, teal satin party sandal
and last but most certainly not least pink Mary-Janes
. I could have gone on and on and on with this list, trust me!
